GIRLS
Overview
The Female section of our Academy is managed by Coach Clare Kinsella, Head of Girls Soccer Development at Power FC Academy. Our Female Program has been running for the past three years and is now entering its fourth successful season. The program began in 2018, following a sabbatical from our original Girls program in 2006) with our Girls Academy Prep Program. Our Prep program featured U7 Girls and was a significant part of our building process.
The aim was to build the girls’ technical skill level as well as prepare them for a competitive playing season. Embarking on the 2025 season, we will have established Girls teams competing at the U8, U9, U10, U11, U12, U13 and U14 levels. We are recruiting female players at all ages and are always looking for players who have the ambition to play at a competitive level. We welcome new players and offer tryouts throughout the season. Why Power FC?
At Power FC, player development is our main Academy philosophy. By focusing on player development, there is less of a significance placed on winning, and a greater importance on improving individual and collective player development, growth, and performance, ensuring long-term success and satisfaction with the game. Power FC is highly competitive – however, our primary goal is to develop and improve player ability in each session, game, and experience. Our focus is for players to have fun, while learning the game in a positive and energetic environment.
Power FC Academy has worked hard to secure centralized, competitive venues at both indoor and outdoor practice facilities. Our primary facilities include high-quality outdoor stadiums and indoor turf domes with top-quality playing fields. Power FC head coaches are professionals who have excelled in their field, and have been coaching, both within Canada and across Europe and South America, for many years. Our coaches are highly-qualified and many have played themselves at a highly-competitive level. Each Power FC Coach brings not only personality, energy, and passion to every training session and game, but talent, skill, and drive.
the Academy
Power FC Academy team programs are designed to help players kick their skills up to the next level and reach their fullest potential in a positive and challenging environment. Our organization is comprised of fully accredited professionals who are experienced in developing the psychological, physical, tactical and technical qualities of young players. We take pride in our ability to develop youth players. Power FC has a Boys and Girls Academy Team Program. We are currently building the girls section with U8 to U14 teams.
COMPETITIVE PROGRAM
Power FC competes locally, in the United States and internationally. Teams will also be involved in cross-border play in US tournaments and University identification Showcase Tournaments and Power FC has also has conducted tours to other continents. Since 2005, the Power FC Academy Program has been involved in competition with other soccer clubs and academies to test and develop player’s skills in a competitive environment. Inter-Academy competition was initially run by the Soccer Academy Alliance of Canada (SAAC), of which Power FC was a founding member with ANB, Bryst and 1v1 Academy.
PROFESSIONAL APPROACH
Power FC coaches are professionals with accredited coaching Licenses. Additionally, Power FC has links with several European, North American and South American clubs allowing our players the opportunity to receive instruction and coaching from professional clubs coaching staff. Several players have trialed with professional clubs in England, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Holland, Scotland and Chile.
In addition to our trips overseas, players have the opportunity to travel each year to the US for youth and Showcase Tournaments (college scouting opportunities). These incredible experiences allow players to perform under the bright lights of the world stage and let their talents shine. This is also a powerful opportunity for players to create not only skills but memories that will last a lifetime.
HIGH PERFORMANCE TRAINING
Depending on your child’s age this program will see them training two to four times a week with a focus on maximizing their their skill development and enjoyment of football. Power FC Academy youth players are expected to commit to a long term player development program that will enhance the opportunity for them to play at the highest level possible.
The development doesn’t stop on the pitch. Coaches will assist your child with home training exercises to elevate their game to the next level. They will receive personalized feedback and objectives to help them improve and unlock their full potential.
UNIVERSITY SHOWCASE SQUADS
The focus has always been on a Player Development Pathway Model for all our Power Soccer Programs. We as Coaches and full-time staff collectively work towards improving the four player development pillars- Technical, Tactical, Physical and Social/Psychological. It is important for us to continue to work on improving both coach education and player development programs while increasing the level of female participation in the game. The future is bright for female athletes, and I am very fortunate to be part of an era when female players, coaches, and officials can all play their part in building and growing the game to the next level.
I am extremely motivated to help the Power FC Girls program grow and improve further. By delivering advanced-level, quality training sessions, I am confident that we will flourish. Passion and love for the game is important. Soccer (Football) is my life, and the pitch is where my heart lies. I am highly ambitious and optimistic about continuing to grow the female program, while improving both individual players and teams, helping them on their own successful pathways.
